Coach Joey began CrossFit training in 2010. After a successful college baseball career, he was searching for a way to stay in shape. He then stumbled across CrossFit and immediately he was hooked.
Joey began coaching CrossFit in 2011 and has not looked back since. CrossFit has given him the opportunity to help other people achieve a life changing experience, reach goals they thought were unattainable, and has surrounded him with the greatest community on earth.

Joey has a strong athletic background. He played 4 years of college baseball at LeTourneau University. He was a 4 year starter, 4 time ASC All-Conference Catcher, and owns the LeTourneau University, American Southwest Conference and NCAA record for highest fielding percentage in a single season (1.000), a record he accomplished twice in his career.
Joey's experiences as both a baseball player and coach have given him a huge advantage in sport specific training and offseason programming for athletes.
Joey enjoys spending time with his wife, Gayla, and his son, Brady. He also enjoys watching professional sports, hunting and competing in the local CrossFit competitions
"I love CrossFit because of the culture, accountability, and most of all the community."

Bachelor of Arts Degree - University of Houston, 2011. CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, 2016.
Gayla began doing CrossFit in 2011. After the birth of her and Joey’s first child, she wanted to lose weight. After quickly getting back into her pre-pregnancy shape, she wanted more and began competing in local CrossFit competitions. Gayla set some very high goals and worked very hard to achieve them. She has climbed her way up the ladder from “beginner” level competitions all the way up to consistently making the podium at “Rx” level competitions.

Throughout this journey and personal growth, Gayla established a passion for teaching and coaching other athletes. Though everyone’s goals are different, Gayla helps those around her develop the discipline and guides them in the right path to turn each goal into a reality. Gayla enjoys celebrating the goals her athletes reach, and picking up those who fall just short with encouragement to help them stay on track.

Gayla has an athletic background in Soccer. Playing in various leagues from the age of 6, through high school, and even playing in an indoor men’s league at the University of Houston. She enjoys family movie nights, just hanging out with her boys, playing with her 2 crazy dogs, random dancing and competing in local events.

“I love CrossFit because of the community, the passion and the drive that it creates”
